hi mommy! Since children have thinner and more delicate skin than adults, it’s more sensitive to irritation. Here are my tips for first time mom’s out there.
    1) Protect your child’s skin from the sun. Sun exposure can burn and irritate your child’s delicate skin, and too much sun in the early years is especially important to prevent skin cancer later on in life. Encourage your child to stay out of the sun when its rays are at their strongest, from around 10 am to 4 pm. Cover your child up with protective clothing and apply sunscreen to exposed skin. Choose a sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays and has an SPF of at least 30.
    2) Keep your child’s skin well moisturized. Choose a moisturizer that’s made for children and dermatologist tested, and apply it to your child’s body and face right after every bath (within 2 or 3 minutes) to seal in the moisture. Proper moisturizing can help protect sensitive skin from irritation.
GOD bless mommy, hope it helps! Arleen oboguin/oboguin.arleen@yahoo.com

Here are some advices that I can give to a first time mom:

♡ Babies need two to three baths a week in warm (not hot) water to stay clean. To prevent Baby from getting cold while you bathe him, regularly pour cupfuls of water over his little shoulders.
Dip a washcloth in the soapy water and use it to gently wash Baby’s scalp with baby shampoo. To clean his face, moisten a cotton ball and gently dab.

♡ Change your child’s diaper frequently, wiping gently but thoroughly each time with baby wipes. Dab diaper cream or put warm water from a squirt bottle on Baby’s bottom; gently pat dry. Wait a few moments to air-dry so moisture doesn’t lead to an irritating diaper rash.

♡ It’s best to use skin-care products made especially for babies, such as fragrance-free and tear-free shampoos, bath gels, and lotions. With each one you use, be watchful of Baby’s reaction in case he is allergic.

♡ Babies can be exposed to sunlight once they are 6 months old, but apply sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 all over exposed skin. Apply the sunscreen at least 30 minutes before going outside for the best protection. With underdeveloped sweat glands, babies are very susceptible to heat rash. To prevent this, dress them in loose clothing and a hat to shield the sun.

Hi mommies.. I’m a first time mom too.. My LO (little one) is 5months old now. Here are my thoughts on how to take care of your child’s skin:

Thanks for reading!

    Good day Mommies 🙂

As a first time Mom, this question is very relatable and learned how to take proper of my baby’s skin the hard way as I was very new to motherhood and I do not have someone to ask. Well, as for taking proper care of my baby’s skin here are my advices:

One is to be ready. Be ready and be equipped with proper knowledge about how much is a baby’s skin sensitive. All we know is yes, it is delicate but some babies’ skin are far more sensitive.
Have an organic balm ready, zinc oxide for rashes, sun protection of course I would opt for the organic one and organic detergent to prevent irritation for me, these are the ” to- aid and avoid irritation” basics. Then come along the baby bath, baby lotion, baby massaging oil which should be hypo-allergenic. These are the ” baby-pampering and cleanliness” basics. Also, change your baby’s diaper personally I do it every 4 hrs as long as he is awake to prevent rashes even though the diaper isn’ t full yet.
So,those are my fool proof skin care for my baby. 🙂

When i became a mom, it was a very difficult days for me. It’s my first time to take care a baby. But i am grateful that i have my mom at my side and she accompanied me all through out my journey.
    Now that i have knowledge in taking care of my babies, especially if its about skin care since babies has very sensitive and delicate skin, its my pleasure to share it to my co-mommies;
When it comes to soap always remember that it should be mild and gentle. Some babies may have allergies on some particular ingredients thay may trigger and make it worse. So once you see an allergic reaction stop using it.
As well as the baby’s clothes, don’t use harsh soap and fabcon unless it’s recommended for babies (or gentle on babies). Me, i separate my baby’s clothes from ours and I use soap only trusted for babies to prevent skin allergies since we already experienced having such and i am much more wiser now.
This is a no no for me, moms prevent this asap, never let your babies kissed by someone especially when you are not sure of the person’s clean. Babies might get infections with that.
When choosing the right diaper for your baby, look for the quality, is it dry all night? Comfortable? Fast absorbing? Affordable? Doesn’t irritate bum?If its pass your standards then its good.
When it comes to other products such as wipes, lotion, shampoo, etc. Choose wisely moms, some items may be cheaper but d. That doesn’t mean its safe for our babies. As much as possible use organic products for your baby.

So that’s it i could share to you…
There’s always be first time but remember, this will teach us lessons in life and make us a better mom.
Hope this could help to all moms out there.
