Our Family Getaway at Cala Laiya, Batangas

In May 2022, I celebrated my 36th birthday in Laiya, Batangas. After weeks of searching for a family-friendly resort just a few hours (land travel) away from Metro Manila, we decided to book at Cala Laiya. Having read about it in several blogs and online articles, my husband and I knew this serene marine sanctuary in Laiya would be a great vacation spot for our little family.

Our Accommodation

We chose to stay at one of Cala Laiya’s cozy garden casitas. It’s a walking distance away from the beach, pool area, and restaurant.

Inspired by the Bahay Kubo, the Casita has a contemporary design with a touch of Filipino culture. It is nestled in a lush garden, giving us both the convenience of modern accommodation with a relaxing and laidback ambiance.

We chose the casita with a queen size bed.
You’ve got everything you need in this bathroom—towels, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hygiene kits.

An accommodation essential for me…a functioning hair dryer! Cala Laiya’s got one. ☑️

This Batangas resort also has amenities like coffee/tea-making facilities, a safety deposit box, a mini refrigerator, and cable TV.

Cala Laiya also offers two-bedroom and three-bedroom casitas for bigger families or groups of friends.

The Beach

Of course, the highlight of our Laiya getaway was the beach!🏖️

It was calming to swim in and stare at the pristine blue waters of Laiya. Just don’t expect too much from its sand. Though the shore doesn’t possess a Boracay-like beauty, it’s enough to enjoy some sand castle-making fun for little kids. Just make sure your kids wear their swimming shoes for protection.

There are other water activities you can enjoy such as kayaking, banana boat, sea wagon, paddle board, and boat tours. We didn’t try these activities anymore though because our little girl wanted more time to enjoy the pool.

You can also relax with the whole family on a balsa raft. This isn’t free though. You can rent a balsa for P1,200 per hour.

What are daughter loved most about Cala Laiya was the pool! She enjoyed her time playing with us, her millennial parents, at the pool.

Hubby and I were so happy with the meals we had in this Laiya resort. Whenever we go to a hotel or resort, we don’t expect too much when it comes to food. So it’s a good experience for us that everything ordered at Cala Laiya was so good—from Beef Steak Tagalog and Lechon Kawali to Cala Burger and Mango Cheesecake.

Meal times are more exciting with this scenery.
You can also enjoy some drinks with friends or family members while staring at the sea.

We spent my birthday dinner by the beach, under the stars for a more romantic vibe. 😆

Because Coke is life…haha!

Massage 💆🏻‍♀️

We ended my birthday with a relaxing Swedish massage session in our casita. You can opt to have the massage in your casita or by the beach.

Play Area for Kids

This kid-friendly resort in Batangas has a play area for little kids. Parents can look after their kids while resting under a tree.

Areas for Relaxation & Picture Taking

And yes, Cala Laiya offers lots of IG-worthy spots where you can just pose for a selfie or sit and enjoy nature.

Benches under a tree are a usual sight inside the resort.

Great Customer Service

Aside from the awesomeness of the place, our experience at Cala Laiya was more memorable because of the resort staff. People here were all accommodating, polite, and friendly. They made sure our requests were properly and promptly addressed.
