For some time now, I’ve been quietly grieving the slow death of my freelance writing career. It’s not easy to admit, but I’ve lost many of my long-time clients due to Artificial Intelligence (AI). I don’t blame them, nor do I blame the technology. In fact, I’ve seen firsthand how efficient and useful AI can be. Save that for another post!
But while I am pondering on how to pivot through these changes, I realized one thing: I am replaceable. 💔

In any industry, no matter how skilled or experienced we are, there may come a time when we’re no longer needed. Whether it’s a human competitor or an algorithm that takes our place, the sad reality is that someone or something can easily replace us. In a fast-changing world, no one is indispensable.
No one is indispensable…except at home. For our children, nothing and no one can replace our presence. Not AI. Not gadgets. Not screen time. Not higher salaries, promotions, or accolades.

What truly matters to them is our genuine attention, love, and presence. These simple things, not material rewards, are what help our children feel safe, valued, and deeply loved.

It is this connection that will shape who they become. It’s what will guide them as they discover their purpose in life.
So while we strive to do our best in our careers or other roles, let’s remember to do even better in the one role where we are truly irreplaceable—at home. 🏡
