Each pause has a purpose

Have you ever felt frustrated while waiting? Stuck in a season where things just don’t seem to move forward?

Lately, my life has been in what I’d call a lull mode. As a mom of two, I’m still functioning on autopilot though. While so many things are still happening in my beautifully chaotic mom life, I can’t help but feel stuck in terms of my personal goals.

While I continue juggling motherhood, family life, business, career, and self-care, my small efforts sometimes feel pointless. It’s as if they’re not getting me anywhere.

No major progress.
No breakthrough moments.
No victory stories.

At least, not in the world’s standard of “success” or “growth”.

The hard part about waiting is actually not the lack of movement but the uncertainty that comes with it.

I began asking questions like:

“Am I doing enough?”
“Did I miss my chance?”
“Am I using my skills to the fullest?”

“Is this really God’s will or maybe I’m in the wrong path?”

But life has taught as that the waiting season is not to be frowned at. In the Bible, waiting was a recurring theme in many of the greatest stories.

Noah built the ark and waited 120 years for the flood. Imagine the ridicule and doubt he faced while faithfully building something for a promise yet unseen. Joseph endured 13 years of slavery and imprisonment before rising to power in Egypt. The Israelites waited 400 years in slavery, and then another 40 wandering in the desert before reaching the Promised Land.

Even outside of Scripture, history and modern life are filled with people whose breakthroughs came after long seasons of waiting. Oprah Winfrey was once told she wasn’t fit for television. J.K. Rowling faced dozens of rejections before Harry Potter became a hit.

These stories tell us that waiting is not a waste of time but a preparation. When life feels like it’s on pause, it’s easy to think nothing’s happening. But in the quietness and the lack of movement in our human life, God is probably crafting His masterpiece in the background. He’s rearranging circumstances, rewiring our mind, strengthening our heart, and preparing us for the blessings that can only come when we’re ready to receive them.

Sometimes, we grow best when we are asked to wait a little longer. During the lull, there is an opportunity to deepen our patience, strengthen our faith, and evaluate our priorities.

If you’re in a waiting season right now, know you’re not alone. It’s human to feel tired, doubtful, or unmotivated. However, we can’t let these human emotions hinder us from moving forward.

Progress isn’t always about landing a new client, fully restoring a relationship, or reaching a personal goal. Sometimes, progress happens quietly in the small, steady habits we build day by day.

Progress can happen in showing up for our family even when we are already drained. It can be giving our best even when the results aren’t visible yet.

Each pause has a purpose. God is preparing us for greater things.

So let’s keep going.

Keep nurturing dreams, even in the slow moments. Keep trusting that God is weaving together a story far greater than the one we can see.
