Movie Night: The Little Prince on Netflix

It’s Movie Night again at Team Serrano’s! 🎥🍿

Since she was still a toddler when the pandemic happened, Tash has never been inside a real movie house. 😅 We try to make “movie night” at home as regular and as real as possible (lights off, always with popcorn and drink, 3 of us sitting beside each other) so when the time comes that it’s safe for her to enter a real movie house, she won’t feel like an alien. 😆👽

This time, we watched The Little Prince on Netflix. Didn’t expect that Tash will enjoy watching this animated film adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s iconic literary work.

It’s a bit deep for a 5-year-old, but I guess she was able to relate to the little girl and the old neighbor’s friendship. 🥰 I slept for a few minutes though in the middle of the film (that part about the fox and the rose…seemed like Literature class to me). 😆✌🏻

But overall, it’s a good movie not just for kids but also for parents like me. It’s a cinematic reminder that we need to strike a balance between fun and work when it comes to raising children and doing our other adult responsibilities. And of course, my favorite takeaway is the line “Growing up is not the problem. Forgetting is.”
