Quarantine Holy Week 2021

“Why does Jesus have many houses?”  This was Tashy’s innocent question during our Visita Iglesia 2 years ago. 😄

I miss going to different churches with the family during Holy Week. 💒 But while I long to talk to God inside the church, I am also thankful to encounter the Lord in many, different opportunities.

Our current situation may have temporarily closed the physical churches, but the Lord has opened his “many houses” for all of us to experience His love — the online Mass, the group chat with family members and friends, that little plantita station we built inside our homes, a video call with a sick loved one or helping someone in need.

Though everything was done virtually or digitally, it was still a meaningful Holy Week for me. Through online masses and online retreat, I was still able to spend time reflecting on God’s message and feeling His love amid the pandemic. 🙏

Sharing some of my “notes” and learnings during this Holy Week.

Learnings from Online Masses

Mere closeness to Jesus is enough. Closeness to the Lord must bear fruit of genuine faith, humility, kindness, bringing the good news to people around us.

– Fr Dennis Soriano, Holy Monday homily

Yes, there is the problem of Covid. Go beyond that. God is bigger than this.

– Bishop Ontioco, Holy Wednesday
Celebration of the Lord’s Passion – Good Friday. Presided by Rev. Fr. Herbie P. Santos

Ang pagbabago bg mga alagad ang pinakamatinding patunay ng pagkabuhay ni Hesus.

– Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Easter Sunday

With Christ living in our hearts, may we bear fruits of kindness, love, and truth in our own simple ways despite the challenges we carry. ❤️

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter season!
