Who would’ve thought that the good old bayong (bags made by weaving dried leaves) of our Filipino ancestors will be a fashion trend in this era of millennials? What used to be a container for goods bought in the wet market has now become a classy and fashionable must-have of women.
These bayong bags with a modern twist caught the attention of the bag lover in me. Hello, girls will be girls! But as a practical working momma, I was a bit hesitant at first to check price tags of these chic bags since I worried they’re expensive, given the hard work of weaving the materials.
So I got all excited when I learned about D’Crafts bayong bags. The price of its classy bayong totes is just within budget! Practical moms like me won’t feel guilty for buying a bag or two. 😊

For as low as PHP250, you can have a stylish bayong bag to bring with you in the office, in the mall or even during date nights with hubby!

The budding bayong business is owned by husband and wife Mark and Doreen Ergino. This entrepreneur couple is also the brilliant mind behind Ergino’s Pantry, a family owned local neighborhood food store.
“Having seen that, nowadays, old school has been slowly coming back and being fashionable again, we saw it as an opportunity to bring this traditional Filipino item back to the market,” says Doreen Ergino.
D’Crafts promotes handcrafted Filipino-made products and support local businesses. The bayong bags are manufactured in Valenzuela. Its production provides employment to several Filipinos, thus providing livelihood for eight families.
D’Crafts also offers accessories to make the bayong look prettier. The feminine Twillies, ribbons and other ornaments go perfectly with the rustic bayong bag.

Great Christmas Gift Ideas
D’Crafts bayong bags are stylish gifts to friends and loved ones this Christmas season. I’m actually about to wrap these two bayong totes as holiday gift for two special ladies. 🙂
And since the owners of D’Craft Bayong Bags own a food store business, it’s also a brilliant idea to order jams and spreads and other food items from Ergino’s Pantry and place them inside the bayong bags. Now you have an instant Christmas gift package! 🙂
So happy with my white bayong tote with personalized name tag. 🙂
