Excelsior Hotel: My Birthday Staycation at a Family-friendly Hotel in Las Pinas

I just turned 3_! 🥳

Of course, when you’re a mom, your birthday celebration means taking care of the kids…outside your home! 🤪 And so my very outgoing hubby asked me to book a staycation at Excelsior Hotel.

Cinco de Mayo is no less than Gwen’s Graceful Aging Day! 😌

The power of social media led us to discover this family-friendly hotel in Metro Manila. Thanks to my husband’s modern habit of scrolling through Reels, we stumbled upon the Excelsior Hotel, an 18-storey gem nestled in the heart of Las Pinas, just an hour’s drive from our beloved Quezon City!

The Hotel Room

The rooms were incredibly spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed. From a mini-refrigerator to big comfy beds, a sofa, and most importantly, a working hairdryer (my personal standard for family accommodations! 😅)

Happy birthday to me!

Instagrammable Spots

Of course, aside from a working hair dryer, photo-friendly spots are a must for our family accommodations. Here are some of Excelsior Hotel’s top picks for the most Instagram-worthy spots.

The Food

We loved the food at Buffet Gourmand, the hotel’s main restaurant. I’m not a fan of hotel meals, but the food at Excelsior Hotel was exceptional. Everything was delicious, and we were lucky because the Summer Explorecation package we availed included buffet breakfast, unlimited lunch and dinner, and unlimited snacks. So, besides enjoying a relaxing staycation, we also had a fantastic family food trip.

It’s also great to hang out over coffee in the hotel lounge.

Kid-friendly Activities

There’s more to this hotel than just swimming and lounging in bed. If you’re a family with energetic little ones, Excelsior Hotel is a great staycation destination. There are plenty of fun activities such as biking, go-carting, trampoline jumping, and playing in the inflatables.

Excelsior Hotel boasts a fantastic pool area with special sections designed specifically for kids. There’s a shallow pool kiddie design for the little ones to splash around safely, while older kids and adults can enjoy the deeper areas.

Besides swimming, Tash and Yomi had a blast playing all afternoon. Tash was thrilled with the trampoline, go-cart, and inflatables, while Yomi practiced walking on the grass. 😁

Looking after an exploring toddler and a very energetic kid, our millennial parent batteries were completely drained by dinner time. 🪫 However, overall, it was a fun and relaxing experience for our little family. Being able to enjoy quality time with my three loves was more than enough birthday celebration for me.
