To celebrate my birth month, my husband and I wanted this family travel to be something closer to nature. So, we took our girls on a unique adventure — a fun and memorable tour at Yoki’s Farm.

Located in Mendez, Cavite, Yoki’s Farm is more than just your average weekend destination. It’s an orchidarium, a hydroponics farm, a museum of antiques from around the world, and an animal sanctuary all rolled into one. What started as a simple hobby by its founder has now blossomed into a 10-hectare farm tour destination that offers families both fun and learning.
A Farm Tour for All Ages at Yoki’s Farm
We joined the farm’s 2-hour guided farm tour, which took us through their lush plantations and introduced us to some very friendly residents—both animals and plants!

Unlike our experience in other crowded zoos, our girls’ close encounter with the animals at Yoki’s Farm went beyond just the photo op. Here, they unhurriedly pet the birds and the rabbits.

They also experienced for the first time feeding a zebra, an alpaca, some ponies, and tortoises.

Their giggles and wide-eyed amazement were priceless. Despite the summer heat, they didn’t complain one bit. They were just so caught up in the excitement of meeting all these animals.
Upclose and Personal with the Capybara
One of the highlights? Getting up close and personal with a capybara, the world’s largest rodent. If you’re a mom of Gen Alpha kids, you probably heard of capybara from these high-energy kids. I bet they mention them more often than Nat Geo does. The sudden popularity of capybaras on social media platforms has captured our daughter’s attention. She often asks us to take a photo of her with anything that has a cute capybara cartoon on it. 🤷♀️ That’s why my husband pursued this family trip, learning that there’s a capybara at Yoki’s Farm.

More Than Just Animals
Yoki’s Farm is also home to a lush variety of plants, trees, and rows of hydroponically grown vegetables. It creates a refreshing, nature-filled escape. This serene farm near Metro Manila provides a breath of fresh air. It’s ideal for any city dweller who needs a peaceful retreat.

After the tour, the kids still had so much energy. So we let them play in the spacious playground.

We also had some snacks at Yoki’s Farm food hub, which offers kid-friendly snacks like fries, sandwiches, and of course, ice cream!

Before leaving, we made sure to stop by the souvenir shop. It was filled with adorable finds like capybara toys, squeeshies, cute magnets, and more.

The Benefits of Farm Tour for Kids
Visiting a farm near Metro Manila was more than a sweet escape for the adults. It was a fun learning experience for children. One of the many benefits of farm tour for our kids is how it encourages them to be outdoors. It allows them to soak in sunlight and breathe fresh air. They can also interact with animals in a safe, nurturing environment.

What stood out to me was how this trip helped shift my daughters’ perspective—helping them see animals not as scary creatures, but as beautiful creations of God that deserve love, care, and respect. And without even realizing it, they were learning important lessons about empathy, sustainability, and responsibility.
If you’re looking for a fun and relaxing farm tour, this one is accessible. It’s kid-friendly as well. This hidden gem in Cavite is worth the drive.
